FSPA Holds Summer Refresher Course

The Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) recently held their Summer Refresher Course last Thursday, August 8, to provide education that is crucial to the professional development of attending pool professionals.

The event provided licensed contractors with seven hours of continuing education credits (CE).  Continuing Education is required as part of the license renewal process.

Overall, 72 hours of CE credit were earned at FSPA’s Summer Refresher. 

“This class was definitely a success when you factor in the number of credits earned,” said Mary Anderson, FSPA Continuing Education Manager.  “These classes don’t just offer licensed contractors the credits they need to renew their license, but allows them to grow as a professional.”

Members of the Florida Swimming Pool Association have access to a free service that helps generate positive customer reviews and boosts those highly coveted search engine rankings.

FSPA partnered with The Seal, a reputation-management company that lets homeowners quickly and easily
rate service providers on websites such as Yelp!, Angie’s List and, most importantly, Google.

Jeff Lucas might not of realized it at age 8, but the experience he was obtaining helping his brother clean residential pools was going to propel him into a career in the industry when it was time to decide on a profession once he was older.

He was working during the summers with his brother Steve, who owned a pool building and servicing company at the time.

Jeff would continue to work with his brother every summer.  However, like everyone, Jeff’s time in the pool industry had a few bumps in the road.

At the June board meeting, PIPAC chairman Adam Alsott of Tropical Pools kicked off the 3 year goal of raising $500,000.

To recap, PIPAC Contributing to the Pool Industry Political Action Committee (PIPAC) allows relationships to be built and candidates supported for election who are instrumental in FSPA maintaining a presence during legislative session.  PIPAC and FSPA will protect the profitability and future of your business. Every day this organization is advocating for you on issues that impact your business.
