Thanks to all who attended the monthly meeting on July 2 at Mudville. We so appreciate Jamie Ressler, Wayne’s Solar, who was our monthly sponsor and provided valuable recommendations for our members. On the week of July 4 we had two prospective members attend which was very nice to see. We look forward to getting their applications in. If you are new to our meetings or if we haven’t seen you in while, from 6:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. we network and place our food and beverage orders. Then our volunteer President Greg Bowers welcomes all and goes over Chapter business. Information from the state is discussed along with legislative issues. This is a great time to get questions answered about industry-related topics as well as a time to talk to other members. We usually have a meeting sponsor who gives us information on their business and services. We also go over local events that we host or that are associated with water safety and education. Everyone eats together and we are always done by 8:00 p.m. unless there is a CE class. So if you haven’t made a meeting yet or it’s been awhile…we welcome you and look forward to seeing you! Bring your business cards for our marketing table and be sure to support fellow members!
“After 14 years of serving on the Northeast Chapter Board in various positions, including seven of those years serving on the state Board, and my subsequent retirement, I am resigning my position as Director on the Board of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Florida Swimming Pool Association. It is been an honor to serve, an opportunity to learn, a chance to make many new friends, and a voice to help influence a positive direction for our trade. I thank all of the people who gave me the opportunity and took the time to guide me. I also thank the people that allowed me to guide them throughout the years. I wish only the best for the association, our trade, and the great people in it. Onto the next exciting chapter! Best regards.” ~ Rick Schmitz
On behalf of the entire Board – thank you, Rick, for your support, guidance, leadership and service to our industry, organization and Chapter. We know we will be seeing you!
Plan on attending our next monthly meeting being held on Tuesday, August 6 sponsored by SGM. We want these meetings to not only be a way to network but to gain education for members and their employees. We look forward to seeing you at Mudville August 6!
SafeKids Northeast Florida hosted a Lookout Cookout event on Saturday, June 29 from at the Mandarin Moose Lodge and the FSPA Northeast Florida Chapter sponsored and was in attendance. The attendees were provided a passport with each booth listed on it. There were numerous prizes for the completed passports to be placed into. At the end of the event, the winners were chosen. A DJ was there who kept everyone singing, dancing and hula hooping. There were two lifeguards as well as UNF nursing students surrounding the pool area. The kids and parents enjoyed cooling off in the pool. The event was a fun-filled day promoting water safety. There were 10 vendors that participated in the event. We saw over 150 people! This event could not have happened without Candi Moorman and all her energy and support along with the gracious people at the Mandarin Moose Lodge. A huge thank you to John and Debi Garner, Susan Landregan, Lindsey Landregan and Karen for working the FSPA booth!
All meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted at Mudville Grille in the St. Nicholas Shopping Center located at 3105 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville.
