Aug. 2019 Chapter News

Manasota Chapter

Mark your calendars for August 8!  It is that time of the year for our annual baseball outing at LECOM Park! For more information contact our chapter coordinator for details. Hope to see you there!

College and Beers…Oh I mean, College then Beers! On August 20 at 5:30 p.m. come with us to tour the MTC electrical and plumbing classes. This is a great way to learn what workforce education is all about! What better way to meet your future employees? Following the tour, we will head over to 3 Keys Brewery for your first cold brew and lite bites on us. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Please RSVP to Sonja.

We hope to see you at the FSPA state Board meeting being held on September 20-21 at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota. We encourage our members to come listen in and see what the FSPA does for you and your business in the pool industry.

The FSPA Manasota Chapter is proud to be a sponsor for the upcoming FSPA High School Swim Meet on September 27-28 at Sailfish Splash Aquatic Athletic Center. If you are interested in being a volunteer for the swim meet please visit www.FSPASwimMeet.com to schedule your time slot. We thank you in advance.

Oink Oink! The 6th Annual Pig Roast is just around the corner! It will be held October 12 at the Turtle Beach Pavilion. Please contact Sonja regarding sponsorship availability.

Are you familiar with PIPAC, the Pool Industry Political Action Committee? The pool industry has been dealing with monumental issues including the scope of work within a pool license, potentially impacting daily operations of your businesses. FSPA has been in reactive mode because of decisions being made by bureaucrats, individuals and boards who may not have the expertise of pool industry professionals. PIPAC funds will allow FSPA to strengthen and leverage the collective voice in support of sound public policy regarding the safety of the products produced and installed by the pool industry, and create and sustain an environment in which their businesses can grow. At the June State Board meeting, PIPAC Chairman Adam Alstott, Tropical Pools, kicked off the three year goal of raising $500,000.  The Manasota Chapter donated $,1500. In addition, the FSPA Board voted to match members' contributions to PIPAC over the next three years up to $150,000.  Make your voices heard, donate today at www.PoolPAC.com or contact Sonja.

Our next Chapter Board meeting, which all members are encouraged to attend, will be Tuesday, August 13 at 11:45 a.m. at the FSPA state office located at 2555 Porter Lake Dr., Ste. 106 in Sarasota.

Thank you to our 2019 Platinum Sponsors Pebble Tec and Red Rhino Leak Detection, and our Bronze Sponsor Mirasol Fafco Solar for your continued support!

Your 2019 Board is working on exciting and educational events. Please let us hear from you with any suggestions for speakers or events.  If you haven’t already, please like our Facebook page at FSPA Manasota Chapter to keep up with upcoming events and meetings.
