Chapter News Sept. 2019

Central Florida Chapter

The Chapter would like to welcome American Leak Detection as our newest Chapter member. We have great plans for 2019! We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events.

If you didn’t make it out to our membership appreciation night at Drive Shack on July 19, you missed out! Everyone had the time of their lives golfing, mingling with new and old friends in the pool industry, and meeting up with family and friends. It was a FSPA Central Florida night to remember.

Our Legislator Mix & Mingle was a hit! Rep. Geraldine Thompson, along with Dallas Theisen, Paul Lowell from Converge, and more than 40 of our members, had important government relations discussions pertaining to the pool industry over canapés and a cocktails at the Citrus Club.

Note the date change for our upcoming electrical CE class. It was originally scheduled for September 3.  Now on September 10, come on out to meet Holly Salmon from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). She will give us a short explanation of what the BBB does and how they can help your business. Following Holly’s brief presentation, learn the Swimming Pool & Spa Basic Electrical Requirements (CILB course #0612739, two hour CE, meets PE requirement, FPSA d/b/a FSPA CILB Providership #0000917) taught by Mike Childress, Pentair. The class is free to members and $25 for non-members. Look out for emails about a time and location coming to your inbox soon.

The Chapter is proud to be a sponsor for the upcoming FSPA High School Swim Meet on September 27-28 at Sailfish Splash Aquatic Athletic Center. If you are interested in being a volunteer for the swim meet please call our state office to schedule your time slot. We thank you in advance.

Mark your calendar for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at HornerXpress Longwood. Zodiac will teach Pool & Spa Gas Fired Heaters Safety & Troubleshooting (CILB course #0612764, two hour, Zodiac providership #003064). Look at your inbox for further information regarding this class.

Our next Chapter Board meeting, which all members are encouraged to attend, will be Tuesday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. at the M Lounge in Orlando.

Your 2019 Board is working on exciting and educational events. Please let us hear from you with any suggestions for speakers or events. If you haven’t already, please like our Facebook page at FSPA Central Florida Chapter to keep up with upcoming events and meetings.
