Recent FSPA Courses Provides Crucial Education to Pool Professionals

FSPA Holds Summer Refresher Course

The Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) recently held their Summer Refresher Course last Thursday, August 8, to provide education that is crucial to the professional development of attending pool professionals.

The event provided licensed contractors with seven hours of continuing education credits (CE).  Continuing Education is required as part of the license renewal process.

Overall, 72 hours of CE credit were earned at FSPA’s Summer Refresher.

“This class was definitely a success when you factor in the number of credits earned,” said Mary Anderson, FSPA Continuing Education Manager.  “These classes don’t just offer licensed contractors the credits they need to renew their license, but allows them to grow as a professional.”

The course consisted of the following five classes:

  •  FBC Advanced Module: 2017 Residential Swimming Pools
  • Proven Ways to Reduce Workers Compensation
  •  Site Specific Safety Plans
  • Chapter 489 - An Overview of Contractor Responsibility
  • Employee Retention

FSPA provides a video recourse library, which allows FSPA members to watch a variety of CE courses.  Laura Castanza’s (Horner Group) lecture on Employee Retention was filmed and recorded on Thursday for any FSPA member to watch and can be found on that same page.
